Bunratty Manor Hotel

We spent our first two days here. The restaurant features Italian cuisine and it's excellent. It was a nice place to recover from jet lag.

Bunratty Castle

This castle has been extensively restored and is open for touring. There are also a large number of buildings on the grounds that are also open for touring.

We attended the banquet in the castle. It was a great time and very interesting.

The Cliffs of Moher

This picture actually shows a lot more than we saw. The weather was rainy, windy and cold.

Near Bonniconlan

On the trip back to Charlestown from Bonniconlan, we passed this lake. In spite of the rain, the scenery was fantastic.

Kilmainham Jail

Cousin, Tom Conlon, waited outside while I toured the jail. I got to sit in the chapel where Joseph Plunkett and Grace Gifford were married and visit the cells where the heroes of 1916 were incarcerated. Tom missed the hurling finals on TV so I could make this tour.
